I FELT LIKE A CHANGE

I'm sure those of you that follow this blog were ready for a change too. I thought the ice cream would be appropriate for this summer. The only bad thing about changing the template, is that you loose other things. And we all know that I do not have the time to go back and add all that stuff. So for right now, what you see is what you get.

(Thank you, Heather for the website. I just LOVE IT!)

I TOOK BRIANNA TO PORTRAIT INNOVATIONS TODAY

BRIANNA'S 6TH BIRTHDAY PARTY

Brianna had her birthday party at the YMCA. She wanted a Littlest Pet Shop themed party, so I tried to come up with something to go along with the whole "pet" theme. The room was decorated with paw prints, dog and cat food bowls filled with animal cookies, and of course Littlest Pets. I was thankful that Heather got to the party early enough to help me set everything up.(Thank you.) Brianna was quick to point out that she didn't need anyone to get in the pool with her and with the help of a floaty she managed to do just fine. All of the kids had a really great time.

Thank you to all that shared in this special day with us and for the many wonderful gifts Brianna received. For those of you that could not attend the party, I thought I would post some pictures for you.

BRIANNA SPENT HER BIRTHDAY AT SCHOOL

Our little girl turned 6 on May 8th. I took the day off work to go on a class field trip to the Greenville Zoo. The kids had just enough time to attend their animal class and walk through the zoo before it started to pour down rain. After the trip to the zoo, Brianna shared birthday cupcakes with her classmates. Here are some pictures.

After school, Brianna's friend Kyleah came over for a sleepover. After spending the afternoon playing Nintendo DS, myself and Kyleah's mom took the girls out for dinner and play at Gatti Town. We spent about 2 1/2 hours there before dropping Kyleah's mom off by her house. Completely exhausted, the girls fell asleep at 10:30. I fell asleep not too soon after. Go Figure!

AS YOU CAN SEE, WE'VE BEEN VERY BUSY

So our past 3 weekends have been crazy. Why should this weekend be any different? It's obviously not going to be. We have a Girl Scout meeting tomorrow. The girls will be finishing up their cute bird feeders made from juice bottles we recycled. They will also be painting a teracota need to run a few errands. Her 6th Birthday is next Friday and we will be having her party that Saturday. I have just now began to work on getting things together. I've ordered the cake from Couture Cakes of Greenville. Brianna and I went Thursday after work to order it. Susan, the cake decorator, got lots of input from Brianna as to how she wanted to have the cake decorated. Brianna chose her cake to be strawberry lemonade. We sampled it, and I am not lying when I tell you, it was absolutely the best cake that I have ever eaten! I can't wait to see it next week. And for those of you that will be coming to the party, you are in for a treat.
I can't believe our little girl is turning 6 already!

Anyway, back to our Saturday plans. Our Girl Scout troop will also be attending the SC Children's Theatre production of Cinderella at the Peace Center. All the girls are excited about this. A lady that I work with is playing the part of the Wicked Step Mother. She has given me glass slipper souvenirs to hand out to the girls for coming to the play.

So I imagine between Girl Scout meeting in the morning, running errands in the afternoon, and watching Cinderella at night Brianna and I will both be exhausted. But I have to be honest, she is growing up so very fast that I will spend every single second with her because before I know it she's going to be a teenager and not even want to be seen in public with me!

RECENT PICTURES OF BRIANNA:WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO

LAST SATURDAY, BRIANNA AND I WENT WITH SOME GIRLS FROM
OUR SCOUT TROOP TO SEE GREER CHILDREN'S THEATRE'S
PRODUCTION OF HONK! THE MUSICAL.
IT TOLD THE STORY OF THE UGLY DUCKLING. BRIANNA LOVED
THE PLAY ESPECIALLY THE PART WHERE THE UGLY DUCKLING
TURNED INTO A BEAUTIFUL SWAN.

ON APRIL 18TH, BRIANNA AND I WENT TO VISIT RIVERBANKS ZOO.
THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME EITHER OF US HAD BEEN. WE BOTH
ENJOYED OURSELVES. BRIANNA GOT TO FEED A GIRAFFE, RIDE A HORSE,
AND FEED LORIKEETS. WE EVEN GOT TO WATCH THE SEA LION
PRESENTATION. OF COURSE, HER FAVORITE THING WAS VISITING THE
BIRDHOUSE AND THE AQUARIUM-REPTILE COMPLEX.
WE WILL DEFINATELY BE GOING TO THIS ZOO AGAIN.
